Riesenrad (The Giant Ferris Wheel) is the centerpiece of “Prater”. Prater is the name for both a large, forested Viennese recreation area as well as for an old fashioned amusement park. This is a view from the gondola on the way down.

Until complete reconstruction of the area in 2009, there has been a small cafe at this place. In the James Bond cinema movie The Living Daylights<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the manipulated sliding door of that cafe kills Bonds local colleague.<\/span><\/p>\n

Celine and Jesse (Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke) take an evening ride in one of the gondolas and kiss here for the first time in the cinema movie “Before Sunrise<\/strong><\/a><\/span>“<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
