Maria Theresien Platz with the Empress Maria Theresia Statue. Maria Theresien Platz is the park between the Museum of Arts and the Museum of Natural History. The center of this park is dominated by an enormous monument with Empress Maria Theresia on top, surrounded by her comrades-in-arms, her Generals and advisers (in the lower section). The men in the middle stand for science and arts, the boy is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The man in front of the group is Gerard van Swieten, Maria Theresia’s personal physician.

James Bond and Kara Milovy (Timothy Dalton, Maryam d’Abo) pass this monument in a fiacre (a historic horse drawn carriage), in the movie “The Living Daylights“.
